美國亞洲學會（Association for Asian Studies, AAS）2016年年會將於3月31日至4月3日於美國西雅圖舉行。本中心秉承以往豐富的國際參展經驗，循例籌劃在年會中舉辦圖書展覽，並邀請財團法人蔣經國國際學術交流基金會合辦。展出臺灣近三年來漢學相關之人文及社會科學出版品共465種，513冊，以宣揚我國的學術成果與出版近況。

展後圖書將致贈華盛頓大學東亞圖書館及奧勒岡大學圖書館，贈書儀式訂於4月2日（週六）15:00於本中心攤位舉行。現場並備有茶點，與蒞臨參觀的國際友人一同分享。

主講題目：中國中古的性別、身體與醫療：從一組雕像說起（Gender and Medicine in Medieval China: Reflections on a Set of Sculptures）
主講人：李貞德（中央研究院史語所研究員兼副所長）

近三十年來，傳統中國的性別與醫療頗引起歷史學者的關注，豐碩的成果幫助我們了解女性在健康照顧中扮演的角色。早期的研究大多檢視宋代第一本婦人方的出現及其後續發展，晚近的討論則往前分析漢唐之間性別化身體觀的演變，拓展了我們對於中國婦科醫學的認識。本次演講將運用文字與視覺史料，探討女性參與生老病死的歷史，鋪陳她們作為醫者和病人的各種活動，特別將利用一組生產雕像，開啟我們認識中國中古、醫療以及性別歷史的視野。

The relationship between gender and medicine in China has attracted historians’ attention for decades. Fruitful researches contribute to our understanding of women’s role in the development of medical sciences. Earlier researches focus mostly on the late imperial period, after the establishment of Chinese gynecology in the 13th century. Recent studies extend our knowledge back to the gendered body view emerging since the 5th century. Utilizing textual as well as visual materials, this talk examines women’s participation in healthcare, both as patients and as healers. In particular, reflections upon a set of sculptures depicting a childbirth scene will enhance our imagination of the gender division of labor in both medical and medieval history.

主講題目：《紅樓夢》新視角──被遮蔽的中國傳統貴族文化（A New Perspective on Dream of The Red Chamber : The Concealed Aristocratic Culture of Traditional China）

《紅樓夢》是中國文學中唯一一部真正的貴族小說，出身貴族世家的作者敘寫幾個貴族世家的故事，「貴族」的階層性（hierarchies）是理解《紅樓夢》的必要座標。但在百年以來巨大的、本質性的文化斷層之下，現代人難免產生許多的閱讀誤區，我們將回歸當代的時空脈絡，以重新發現這些人、那些事的真正意義，誕生一部不同的經典。

Dream of the Red Chamber is an aristocratic novel unique in Chinese literature. As a narrative about several aristocratic families by an author of noble birth, naturally the hierarchies of aristocracy should be an essential frame of reference for understanding Dream of the Red Chamber. But for over a century the novel has been interpreted from a non-aristocratic or sometimes even an anti-aristocratic perspective. This has happened for several reasons: chief among them, and perhaps the most important one nowadays, is simply that misunderstandings of the text have arisen due to the huge and fundamental cultural upheavals of the past century of Chinese history. After over a century of rich and wonderful readings of Dream of the Red Chamber, I propose we attempt to rediscover the sense of those people and events against an aristocratic background, or rather, in the original text and context of the novel. This perspective may give rise to a new understanding of this great novel.

主講題目：Fight the Power Versus Don’t Worry: The Use of Rap Music in Taiwan’s Political Communication（臺灣政治溝通中的饒舌音樂）

Over the last three decades rap music has developed into an important music genre in Taiwan’s music scene. Thus Taiwanese rap emerged in the aftermath of democratization. The use of rap music has been surprisingly common in Taiwan’s political communication. Political rap music has a reputation for being subversive, well-illustrated by Public Enemy’s call on listeners to "Fight the Power." This lecture considers whether political rap in Taiwan fits in with the stereotype of being oppositional to the state. We do this by analysing five political rap songs that span the arrival of rap in the late 1980s through until recent times. We show how rap has been used not only to fight and satirize power but it has also been used as a campaigning tool to try to gain power. Moreover, political rap has also been employed by the state to try to connect better with younger voters and also as a means of public information campaigns. In addition to considering the uses of rap we offer some discussion on how to measure the effectiveness or success of these rap songs.

Speaker Bio
Prof. Dr. Fell is the Reader in Comparative Politics with special reference to Taiwan at the Department of Political and International Studies of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. He is also the Director of the SOAS Centre of Taiwan Studies and the book series editor for the Routledge Research on Taiwan Series. In 2004 he helped establish the European Association of Taiwan Studies. He has published numerous articles on political parties and electioneering in Taiwan. His latest book is Government and Politics in Taiwan (Rouledge, 2011). He has a new co-edited volume titled Migration to and from Taiwan (Routledge, 2014).

漢學研究中心自1989年開始實施「外籍學人來臺研究漢學獎助」，獎助國外大學和研究機構之外籍教授、副教授、助理教授、博士候選人，來臺研究3個月至1年。基於本中心「外籍學人來臺研究漢學獎助」長久經驗及績效，外交部自2010年開始，主動將「臺灣獎助金」相關行政及接待事宜委託本中心辦理，每年約有來自世界各國100位左右學人來館研究。

為促進國際學術的研究與交流，凝聚獲獎訪問學人情誼、協助學人間聯繫管道之建立以及對學人服務，本中心自2016年2月1日起，特別將本中心學術交流組會議室改造為輕鬆舒適、氣氛隨和溫馨的多功能使用之學人資訊共享空間（Research Commons），提供學人輕鬆自由閱讀、上網搜尋資料或進行小型讀書會、研究討論、語言交流的空間。

中華民國外交部鼓勵全球對臺灣、兩岸、中國大陸、亞太區域及漢學等各類研究有興趣的國外大學相關系所的外籍教授、副教授、助理教授、博士候選人與同級的研究人員等來我國各大學院校或學術機構進行研究，以培育未來各國在相關領域的專家，於2010年公布「臺灣獎助金作業要點」(Guideline to the Taiwan Fellowship)，並委由國家圖書館漢學研究中心辦理行政業務及接待事宜。2016年度錄取110人，已陸續來臺研究。

《漢學研究》（季刊）計劃於2017年6月出版「經解與變異」專輯，由政治大學中文系林啟屏教授籌劃主編。論文以中、英文撰寫皆可，中文稿以不超過二萬五千字，英文稿以30頁以內為原則，體例請依照本刊「稿約」和「寫作格式」。專輯內容說明如下：經學的發展向來與經解的關係密切，我們從歷來的經學歷史以觀，可以發現當「經解」產生「變異」的階段，經學活動的動能通常是相當強大。因為，當舊有的解釋系統無法滿足知識分子對於聖人之道的想像，或是符合他們解釋世界與改變世界的欲望時，改變原有的解釋典範，常常是解經者採行的方式。當然，造成「經解」產生「變異」的原因，實為多端。或為外在的環境條件之變遷，或為內在義理結構的發展，都可能是「經解」產生「變異」之因。因此我們期望經由本專輯的籌劃，能對於此一領域的議題之發展，有深入的討論，進而豐富經學研究的內涵。
